JOB SUMMARY

Define, control, and improve manufacturing processes of transformer components in order to increase productivity and ensure product quality though the Toyota Production System Method.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify process constraints and bottlenecks to improve efficiency and throughput.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Audit process adherence and ensure compliance with established work schemes and standards.
  • Develop and document procedures, work instructions, and key process knowledge.
  • Lead productivity and process improvement projects to close performance gaps.
  • Analyze process capacity, cycle times, and profitability; recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Benchmark and implement best practices and new technologies within the manufacturing industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, sourcing, etc.) to drive improvements.
  • Support sustainability, efficiency, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through continuous improvement activities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated knowledge of TPS Methodologies
  • Excellent Process and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of seven basic quality tools
  • Intermediate knowledge of Manufacturing Variable Costs (LCP, VCP, MCP, & OVCP)
  • Ability to complete tasks after being advised of the general nature, scope and objectives of work to be accomplished with a minimum of technical assistance
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • An excellent team player with strong people skills; able to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Effective technical communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, listening and presentation.
  • Proficient in applications such as Power Point, Excel and Word
  • Languages - Advanced English, basic Spanish Preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Industrial Technology
    • 5+ years experience in manufacturing
    • 3+ years experience in continuous improvement
  • Preferred experience with component assembly and CNC Machining
