Position summary: Responsible for coordinating large-scale engineering programs.

Essential functions and responsibilities:



  • Maintain ongoing communications throughout the project team, incorporating project status and ongoing issues to internal and external stakeholders, assure that the project team is monitoring and executing projects, including identifying and mitigating risks, developing extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.





  • Build relationships with client(s) to understand preferences and requirements to set-up and execute a quality project.





  • Managing a team of dedicated professionals to deliver project objectives for assigned tasks, while collaborating with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk adverse project scope and fee.





  • Support business development for the development of new task opportunities and new contract opportunities.





  • Assure that the project team is developing project specific documents in accordance with JMT's ISO-9001 quality management plan, including Project Management Plans, Quality Management Plans, and project schedules.





  • Providing coaching and mentorship to the project team through one-on-one check-in meetings and various project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned.





  • Providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of staff.



Nonessential functions and responsibilities:



  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Required Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field from an ABET accredited program





  • Active Professional Engineer and the ability to get registered in the states where clients are served within 3 months of employment





  • Experience and comprehensive knowledge of the surface transportation industry including planning, engineering and program management for roads and bridge construction





  • 25+ years of engineering consulting industry experience




Preferred Experience:



  • knowledge of client operations


Working Conditions:

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
