Posting Summary	Rutgers School of Health Professions ( SHP) is seeking a Graduate Assistant to work in the Health Informatics Department. The laboratory of Dr. Antonina Mitrofanova in the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics is searching for a highly motivated Master's, PhD, or Doctoral student with training and interest in computer science or biomedical informatics to work as a Graduate Assistant building and testing analysis pipelines for Next Generations Sequencing data from cancer patients, using a Unix/Linux computing cluster. Knowledge of Unix/ Linux operating systems and shell/ python scripting is recommended. High work ethics and US work authorization are required. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Build and test analysis pipelines for Next Generation Sequencing data, using shell/ python scripting on Amarel computing cluster. Using these pipelines, download and analyze clinical and Next Generation Sequencing data (for cancer patients) from public repositories (including dbGaP). Develop and apply machine learning algorithms to associate patterns in the data with cancer progression and therapeutic responses in cancer patients. Participate in generating data for grant reporting. Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Performs other related duties as assigned.
