As the Director, IT - Technical Services & Master Data, you will serve as an innovative thought leader and trusted advisor within Smithfield Foods. You will lead all aspects of technology solutioning and support for business applications and services. In this role, you will act as a technology leader, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring that IT capabilities align with business needs and objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Architecture & Integration: Lead the architecture and development of services that move data into and out of applications across the enterprise.

  • Program & Initiative Delivery: Ensure on-time delivery of key strategic initiatives across multiple workstreams and functions.

  • Master Data Governance: Lead data governance and management capabilities for the organization's most critical master data assets.

  • Solution Ownership & Support: Oversee solutioning and support for functional group technologies, serving as the escalation point for issues.

  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Drive IT innovation by researching, piloting, and recommending new technologies that support evolving business needs.

  • Technology Strategy & Planning: Participate in strategic planning and execution of business changes through technology, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Business Relationship Management: Manage relationships and projects across internal teams, vendors, and third-party providers to ensure successful delivery.

  • Value Creation & Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to leverage technology for business value creation and cost reduction.

  • Enterprise Collaboration: Collaborate across the global organization to drive technology and process innovation with continuity.

  • Communication & Alignment: Communicate decisions, priorities, and project updates to appropriate stakeholders across the business.

  • Systems Integration Strategy: Define and influence system integration strategies to align IT capabilities with business strategy.

  • Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • Leadership: 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development.

  • Industry & Application Expertise: Broad business applications experience, preferably in Consumer Products, Food Manufacturing, and/or Agribusiness.

  • Integration & Data Systems: Hands-on experience with integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, IBM) and Master Data Management systems (e.g., SAP MDG, Informatica, Stibo).

  • ERP Knowledge: In-depth experience with SAP and/or JD Edwards.

  • Project Management: Proven track record managing mid-sized to large-scale projects.

  • Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with vendors and corporate partners to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions.

  • Communication & Influence: Strong communication, influencing, and partnering skills across all organizational levels.

  • Technology Awareness: Familiarity with emerging technologies such as RPA, AI, Machine Learning, and OCR.

  • Work Environment & Culture: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while fostering a respectful, approachable, and team-oriented culture.
