Position Purpose



The Robotic Program Manager is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing, and monitoring the operations of the Robotic Surgery Program to achieve and improve patient outcomes, provisions of care, and services.



Nature and Scope



1. Responsible for the overall administration and operations of the Robotic Surgery Program under the direction of the Nurse Managers, Directors, Robotic Program Medical Director, and VP of Surgical Services.

* Leads the Robotic Surgery Program Steering Committee meetings.

* Ensures the timeline and key deliverables of the implementation plan are achieved.

* Responsible for reporting and achieving operational, financial, and outcome targets.

* Responsible for pursuit and maintenance of COE designation.

* Coordinates program observation activities in conjunction with Intuitive

* Oversees and manages robotic supply instrumentation and inventory.

2. Collaborates with surgeons & pre-admission testing for patients scheduled for robotic surgery procedures to optimize care

3. Coordinates with care team during the acute hospitalization to enhance patient satisfaction and ensure quality care including rounding during hospitalization and post discharge follow up phone calls.

4. Collaborates with physicians, nursing, operating room staff, marketing, pharmacy, vendors, and all members of the healthcare team to ensure a quality-of-care delivery process for robotic surgery patients.

5. Accountable for maintaining education materials on robotic procedures.

* Collaborate with the Steering Committee, surgical team, and vendors to ensure supplies and instrumentation are standardized and consistent across specialties.

* Works with physicians and team members to review materials, as necessary.

6. Collaborating with the Nurse Managers and the education department develops, defines, and evaluates competencies to ensure staff ability to care for patients with robotic surgery.

* Serve as a mentor for professional practice and team development related to robotic surgery patient care.

* Develops and maintains appropriate resources for patient and staff education related to robotics.

7. Accountable for the key performance indicators of the robotic programs.

* Works with the team to identify and track key performance measures.

* Works with the business manager and ED&A to distribute reports to key stockholders and participate in process improvement initiatives as required.

8. Maintains flexible work hours to accommodate patients, families, and physicians.

9. Serves as liaison and subject matter resource to physicians, staff, patients, families, and professional organizations, societies, etc. to ensure that optimal patient care is provided to the patient's robotic surgery.

* Attends appropriate committees.

* Communicates hospital's needs to surgeons in a professional manner.

* Serves as a resource person to facilitate problem solving and decision support.

11. Develops data collection methods and processes for tracking and trending quality outcomes consistent with patients with assistance from Quality, Infection Control, and IT as needed.

12. Ensures compliance with core measure initiatives appropriate to service line.

* Responsible for coordinating and managing a comprehensive, high quality robotic program.

* Facilitate COE survey activities, including tracers, chart audits, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure quality and compliance for the robotic surgery program.

This position can provide patient care within the scope of practice of incumbent.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements - Required and/or Preferred








Name Description

Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor's degree in nursing or health related bachelor's degree preferred.



Experience:



Five years of experience in an acute care setting, which includes two years of robotic surgery experience required.



License(s):



Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse required at time of hire.



Certification(s):



Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association standard required at time of hire.



Computer / Typing:



Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
