The Opportunity:
This role manages and has overall responsibility for HSEQ activity and support in the assigned Plants (sites). This position provides consultative support to management and employees with the goal of creating and maintaining the company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) values and programs. This regional position will support renewable energy operations & maintenance activities.
What You'll Do at Enel North America:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership & Strategy
* Support and enforce the HSEQ strategy, targets, and KPIs within the assigned region.
* Provide consultative support to internal teams and contractors to promote consistent safety practices.
* Represent HSEQ in safety committees, audits, reviews, and customer or contractor meetings.
HSEQ Systems & Compliance
* Maintain and implement the HSEQ Management System in line with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and ISO 37001 standards.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and permit requirements.
* Support the Integrated Management System across operational activities and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Training & Development
* Develop, facilitate, and deliver HSEQ training programs for staff and contractors.
* Support injury management initiatives and implement programs to reduce incidents and improve safety culture.
Incident Management & Risk Assessments
* Lead or support root cause analyses and incident investigations, ensuring accurate documentation and corrective action implementation.
* Administer the incident reporting database, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
* Conduct proactive and on-the-spot risk assessments to support safe work planning.
Supplier & Contractor Oversight
* Ensure HSEQ compliance among contractors and vendors in line with company standards and Integrated Management Systems.
* Verify implementation of safety protocols during field activities and contractor operations.
Data, Reporting & Administration
* Track and manage HSEQ deficiencies and ensure timely resolution with support from regional leadership.
* Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure adherence to site-specific safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct regular site observations and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
* Lead or participate in cross-functional HSEQ initiatives or special projects.
* Ensure data integrity within HSEQ management systems, including SAP and internal reporting tools.
* Manage HSEQ initiatives that contribute to performance improvement across the organization.
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Work collaboratively with Operations teams to develop site-specific safety programs and conduct hazard analyses.
* Participate in cross-departmental projects, special initiatives, and companywide improvement campaigns.
* Maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Who You Are:
What You've Accomplished:
* Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environment, Quality (HSEQ), or equivalent relevant experience
* 4-8 years of related professional experience in HSEQ, preferably within operations and maintenance environments
