Provides oversight for quality and accreditation activities for assigned Northside care locations. Provides supervision to assigned coordinators to ensure that assigned areas are accreditation ready.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides guidance on tracer activities for the organization.
  • Assists with survey readiness preparations for all levels of activities across the organization
  • Engages with surveyors from external agencies during announced/ unannounced inspections.
  • Escalates issues, concerns or barriers to leadership.
  • Assists with organization wide projects and goals.
  • Assists with preparation for the organization-wide Quality and Patient Safety Forum.
  • Assures action plans are developed and implemented as indicated.
  • Assures comparable levels of care for each location.
  • Participates in root cause analysis for sentinel events as indicated.
  • Provides vversight for assigned organization-wide measurement, assessment and improvement.
  • Maintains documentation for all required organization-wide measurement.
  • Assures actions are taken and improvement occurs.
  • Provides oversight for organization wide and departmental continuous readiness calendars.
  • Communicates with departments regarding requirements for continuous readiness calendars.
  • Maintains documentation for the continuous readiness process for all assigned care locations.
  • Coordinates various committees and task forces at all levels of the organization to ensure quality and patient safety.
  • Provides input into the formulation of goals for the organization related to quality and patient safety.
  • Insures action plans related to quality and patient safety are developed and implemented in a timely manner
  • Provides patient safety education for organization wide orientation and other departments as needed.
  • Serves as team leader, facilitator or member as assigned.
  • Facilitates regulatory site visits.

REQUIRED

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or health care related field.
  2. Demonstrated effective team leadership skills.
  3. Minimum of 3 years combined experience in health care field in the following functions: Quality Improvement or TJC coordination, either in hospital or ambulatory settings.
  4. Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis and report writing.
  5. Provides clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, objective judgement, self-direction and motivation.
  6. Ability to function effectively with a wide variety of disciplines, including physicians and nurses.
  7. Make presentations on topics related to quality and regulatory issues.
  8. Able to participate as part of a team to accomplish an assigned project.

PREFERRED

  1. Master of Science degree
  2. Supervisory experience
  3. Training as team leader and facilitator
  4. Certification in Health Care Quality.
