DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this essential position, you will deliver care across various domains, including Skilled Care, Personal Care, Outpatient services, and the General Population. Your daily responsibilities will involve executing fundamental nursing skills and procedures to ensure optimal health for inmates while providing high-quality care. You will be tasked with accurately completing all documentation in accordance with Department of Corrections (DOC) guidelines. Additionally, you will collect specimens as instructed by the Registered Nurse, including urine, feces, and sputum samples. Assisting inmates with daily living activities and personal hygiene will be crucial to meeting their basic physical care needs. You will also engage in Life Skills programming by adhering to nursing care plan directives, delivering care tailored to inmates' requirements, and documenting relevant aspects of the nursing care plan. In emergency situations, you will perform necessary procedures such as CPR and airway management, as well as participate in assigned emergency response drills. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- The Department of Corrections is staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- 8-hour shifts with rotating days off
- Work hours TO BE DETERMINED
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
