DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this position, you will perform skilled journeyman level work in the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of machinery, buildings, utilities, and equipment. This work will involve knowledge and proficiency in several trades, such as carpentry, electric, and plumbing. Some of your duties will include repairing and installing various structures, maintaining and repairing wooden and metal furniture, as well as operating and maintaining shop tools. Acting as a lead worker, you will prepare and paint a variety of surfaces and make minor repairs to equipment. You will also troubleshoot equipment by observing and testing equipment for malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as boilers and water systems. Additionally, you will maintain the grounds by cutting crass and aid in the snow removal process during the winter months.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. There will be a rotating schedule and you may have to work weekends and holidays. You also may have to respond to off-hour call-ins. This may change based on operational needs.
- Travel and overtime as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
