Senior Accountant
We are partnering with a growing company seeking a strong Senior Accountant to join their team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting leadership with meaningful analysis and insights. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. Responsibilities: * Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. * Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. * Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded, classified, and reconciled. * Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, providing financial insights to help guide decision-making. * Assist with audits by preparing documentation, explaining account activity, and resolving inquiries. * Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, coordinating with outside advisors as needed. * Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes. * Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure accurate financial impact. * Take ownership of ad-hoc projects and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. * 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry). * Strong technical knowledge of GAAP; exposure to tax and compliance a plus. * Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems. * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends. * Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. ************ Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
