ABOUT THE POSITION: We're seeking an Assembly Manager (internally called Assembly Zone Owner or AZO) to ensure operations run safely, smoothly, and with precision with Assembly and Manufacturing Engineering teams across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts within two facilities (approx. 5 minutes apart). This role is central to daily execution from reviewing yesterday's performance, preparing for today, and driving improvements for tomorrow. You'll lead team huddles, track SQDC metrics, and translate data into clear actions that keep our Assembly Zones performing at their best.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: You will thrive in this role if you enjoy both analyzing metrics using BI tools/ Excel and coaching team members on the production floor. You'll offer 7-10 years of manufacturing experience with 5 of those years in a leadership role. Preferably, you'll have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management (or related).

Ultimately, you understand the nuances of different shifts and know how to adapt your leadership style to engage people effectively. You bring a data-driven mindset that turns numbers into insight, a strong leadership presence that motivates teams to deliver results, and a continuous improvement focus that keeps safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals moving forward. You collaborate naturally with Engineering, Team Leaders, other Zone Owners, and associates, and you're energized by the challenge of creating consistency and accountability across every shift.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

You will PERFORM by:



  • Effectively managing the Assembly zone ensuring manufacturing engineering and production teams meet customer demand through safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) goals
  • Verifying production schedules are followed and met, then taking action when they're not
  • Ensuring productivity, changeovers, and maintenance are completed at quality and on time while eliminating waste in the process
  • Ensuring accuracy in all processes to achieve inventory and quality control goals
  • Understanding and providing direction and support to engineering to support execution
  • Following the zone management process
  • Institutionalizing 5S in all aspects of the Zone, such as ensuring a clean and organized work environment, OSHA safety requirements are being met, and a continual state of "audit readiness" among the group and team leads

  • Supporting Zone participation in NPD processes
  • Maintaining and active presence on the floor to monitor, motivate, and ensure success
  • Ensuring technical skills of workforce are being developed as well as being flexible and well trained to meet demand
  • Overseeing that Zone standard work is developed, maintained, trained to, and followed by the associates and leaders to create a culture of accountability throughout the Zone.
  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports to gain a deeper understanding, flexibility, and preparing them for future roles

  • Addressing chronic unacceptable performance in a way that leads to improvement
  • Objectively valuing and defining performance against outcomes and standards and ensuring evaluations are completed on time

You will INNOVATE by:



  • Creating and monitoring zone metrics with regular reviews and corrective actions
  • Maintaining objectives for the quality and environmental management systems in the zone
  • Using data/metrics to identify gaps and creating improvement plans to successfully close those gaps
  • Practicing, teaching, and coaching using the 4-step problem solving approach
  • Promoting and creating engagement for continuous improvement within the Zone
  • Assisting in determining strategic direction for the Zone and the plant providing useful ideas and impactful initiatives

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Engineering (preferred)
Experience
5 years: Leadership in manufacturing environment (required)
7 - 10 years: Manufacturing experience, with a strong understanding of production processes and engineering principles (required)
