About the Role

The Shop Continuous Improvement Leader partners with shop services leadership (maintenance, machining, calibration) to drive strategic improvements across shop operations. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional continuous improvement projects within the shop environment, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory standards. As a subject matter expert in lean methodologies, the Shop Continuous Improvement Leader facilitates the effective use of tools such as Kaizen events to enhance efficiency, quality, and performance.

This role will be located at our facility in Phoenix, Arizona.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with shop leaders in the planning and execution of cross-functional shop specific projects, defining scope, tasks, and resource requirements to drive operational improvements.
  • Develop and manage project timelines in partnership with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory standards.
  • Implement structured changes that support strategic objectives, leveraging continuous improvement methodologies to enhance performance and compliance.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks or barriers, and facilitate timely resolution through data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as a catalyst for improvement by identifying and leading initiatives that optimize shop operations, efficiency, and quality.
  • Coach and mentor associates to build lean mindset capability, foster engagement, and support professional development within a high-performance culture.
  • Build and directly lead diverse shop project teams as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support evolving business needs and strategic goals.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration (or related field) OR minimum 5 years' leadership experience in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and partnering internal groups to accomplish defined goals, including planning, execution, resource management, and timely delivery.
  • Proven track record of successful change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse teams and functions.
  • Proven track record coaching and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite and other software systems.
  • Proven commitment to continuous improvement and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using maintenance-management tools (e.g., CMMS, EAM, WO software) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with GBS methodologies, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Change Orders (COs).
