Description

This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Loan Operations team in project, process, and training activities and directs the execution of multiple operational and strategic opportunities. Directly, this position will oversee the management of the group's policies, procedures and processes, operational efficiency and effectiveness, regulatory compliance and reporting, and project management; including merger and acquisition activities and standardization efforts. This requires expertise in all Loan Servicing processes and the systems used to support them. The position creates and documents test plans, tracks progress, documents and resolves issues related to loan servicing. Also, coordinating and directing efforts used to remediate Archer and Audit Board issues.

Position Accountabilities



  • Act as a subject matter expert for all Loan Services processes, procedures and policies
  • Leads various projects for the Loan Operations group, including merger and acquisition activities to standardize loan servicing processes across the enterprise
  • Matrix manage production staff when engaged in large projects such as system conversion or installation if new systems
  • Works to resolve control/compliance issues noted in Audit Board and Archer such that the results are acceptable to Audit, Corporate Risk and Compliance
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of the loan (core) system, working with internal constituents, including Wholesale Lending, Consumer Lending, Business Banking, Home Loans Division, Credit Administration, Finance, Accounting, etc.
  • Represent Loan Services interests to lines of businesses, Compliance, Retail Operations and various other areas participating in projects. Makes decisions regarding workflow changes
  • Comprehends and effectively disseminates the Bank's vision and strategic plan to Loan Operations teammates
  • Assist in the strategic and operational planning function to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing operations initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future resources across the group
  • Assist teammates with complex questions requiring review, research and in-depth knowledge of procedures, and in conjunction with the Director - Loan Operations, provide decisions or recommendations on how to proceed
  • Develops trusted relationships with key stakeholders, internal/external clients and teammates based on a good grasp of Bank Operations and strategic vision, excellent communications and leadership
  • Maintain relationships with other Lines of Business to facilitate the implementation of plans that effectively support the goals and objectives of the LOBs and achievement of the overall strategic plan
  • Collaboratively with the Director - Loan Operations, assess the risks associated with potential new or changed product offerings; changes in organization, technology support or operational processes
  • Implement structure to ensure a high delivery of service standards by automating, centralizing, eliminating, and streamlining processes and procedures, while evaluating and improving manual and automating risk controls as needed
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that are necessary to improve operational efficiency
  • Develop training materials for various roles within the Loan Operations group and conduct in-person and virtual training sessions to communicate changes affecting their functional areas
  • Act as resource for Loan Operations Managers when onboarding of new teammates, such as providing guidance relating to access and entitlements and navigation during initial days of onboarding a new teammate
  • Ensures all new or modified processes adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with the Bank's BSA/AML Policy and Procedures
  • Determines the budgetary impact of projects - of the project itself as well as ongoing expense
  • Ensure excellent service is provided to our internal partners and customers
  • Performs all other job duties as assigned
  • Provide high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive information
  • Ensure that Loan Operations meets its assigned project schedule
  • Creates task plans and time estimates for Loan Operations activities in assigned projects
  • Creates and executes project test plans that ensure all aspects of changes have been validated
  • Estimates the staffing impact to Loan Operations of projects
  • Identifies and evaluates project risks related to Loan Operations
  • Works with vendors as needed to design and evaluate services required for operational changes
  • Ensures that SOX controls are created/redesigned and approved for the corporate SOX committee for project changes

    Position Qualifications

    Education & Experience



    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 10 years of loan operations experience
    • At least 6 years of project experience
    • Extensive loan project experience
    • Banking/accounting/finance experience required

    Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
