Cost Analyst

The role:

The Operations Cost Analyst will identify viable business solutions which help minimize operational costs, capital spending, and/or inventory. Reporting to our Senior Manager, Finance Operations, your specific responsibilities will include analyzing product costs, variances, and fixed overhead costs, to identify cost trends, cost improvement opportunities, control issues, and process improvement options.

Your analyses may include make versus buy, people versus labor, buy quantities, development of product cost quotes, distribution sourcing, etc. You will work with team members within Operations and Finance.

What you will do:

• Analyze and understand internal/external manufacturing issues and costs associated with the issues.
• Analyzing product costs to identify issues, develop solutions, and communicate information to create action steps for improvement.
• Work across Operations on cost budgets.
• Develop cost for new products.
• Aid in month end or annual close, reserve establishment.

What you will need:

• Bachelor's Degree: Finance or Accounting
• 3 - 5+ years of experience in the areas of cost or financial analysis.
• General knowledge of accounting/transactional systems
• Product cost analytical skills (preferably within the CPG industry)
