Job Description Summary:

Supports the passenger safety program. Oversees day-to-day operations that support and provide car seats and training. Maintains compliance with all program policies and ensures equipment meets established standards.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the overall activities of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Passenger Safety Program. Maintains up-to-date professional knowledge and skills in the passenger safety field.
  • Maintains a strong technical knowledge of the latest occupant protection standards, including current recommendations for transporting in the vehicle through American Academy of Pediatrics and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Reviews considerations for children with special healthcare needs.
  • Provides car seat safety education to parents and caregivers. Prepares educational materials for hospital staff.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the various car seat options currently on the market, including their features and limitations, to make appropriate and cost-effective selections for use throughout the institution.

Education Requirement:

High school diploma, required.

Certifications:

  • Certification as Child Passenger Safety Technician, preferred.
  • CPST certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Safe Travel for All Children required within 12 months of hire.

Skills:

Excel, Word, strong written and verbal communication skills, required.

Experience:

Previous experience in hospital based passenger programming, preferred.
