Day in the Life:
As a Test Engineer for Milwaukee, you will be located at our testing facility in Menomonee Falls, WI. You will work in a fast-paced environment testing new products as a member of a cross-functional team to help deliver those products to hands of professionals and build the world around us. In this role you will support the advanced test laboratory by performing ergonomics and biomechanical research tests for investigative analyses and follow industry standards to meet quality and regulatory requirements for a vast array of new products.
You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
Utilize and maintain systems for ergonomic and biomechanical testing to support product development.
UtilizeNoraxon Ultium Biomechanical Research hardware and software to record and analyze surface electromyography (sEMG), inertial measurement unit (IMU) motion data, optical motion capture, force and pressure data, among other measurements.
Perform muscle effort and fatigue testing, muscle oxygen testing, range of motion and posture analysis, rigid body motion tracking, and other physiological testing based on project requirements.
Perform basic data processing, filtering and quality checks on collected datasets.
Generate clear data summaries, charts, and preliminary findings for review by senior engineer.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Review and thoroughly understand product function and design specifications.
Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and standards.
Collaborate with multiple teams of Engineers and Technicians
Perform Lab Correlation studies while working with a cross-functional team
Work collaboratively with project and reliability teams to develop test plans and methods, drive implementation and execution of these methods within the lab team.
Use statistical methods to interpret test data and make formal recommendations to product design teams.
Exhibit vision and foresight to test the extremes of a design.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and lab procedures.
What TOOLS you'll bring with you:
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, or a focus in Ergonomics/Kinesiology or a related field. (Undergrad or Master's course work emphasizing ergonomics or biomechanical research a plus)
Applicable course work or internship experience a plus.
Knowledge of Test and Measurement techniques, including sensor technology, signal conditioning, measuring techniques, data acquisition and performance calculations.
Working knowledge of statistical methods and measurement uncertainty calculations.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Interpersonal skills to develop cross functional relationships.
Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
Previous work with Noraxon Biomechanics Research System, Qualisys camera system, Theia3D, or other biomechanical research systems.
Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Visual Basic, C.
