UW Solutions Position Summary Are you an engineer who enjoys solving problems, getting hands-on, and seeing your ideas come to life on the production floor? We're looking for a Product Engineer to play a key role in bringing new products from concept to reality and improving the ones already in production. In this role, you'll be the bridge between design and manufacturing, making sure our products are functional, cost-effective, and built to last. You'll collaborate with design, R&D, operations, quality, and supply chain teams, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle. - Partner with design and R&D teams to create product designs that are manufacturable and reliable.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) efforts including prototyping, testing, and production validation.
- Develop and maintain accurate engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, specifications).
- Troubleshoot product performance and production issues (defects like streaking, orange peel, adhesion, curing).
- Improve existing manufacturing processes for better efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
- Evaluate new materials to meet goals for cost, performance, or sustainability.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and compatibility.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product quality issues (CAPA, FMEA, etc.).
- Contribute to tooling design and selection for production.
- Be the go-to technical support for manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams on coating applications, curing, and environmental controls.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a product or manufacturing engineering role.
- Familiarity with ERP, PLM, and PM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Arena, Asana, Taskray).
- Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and coatings test equipment.
- Understanding of coatings application and curing (UV/EB, sputter) and machining processes.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
