Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating the resources and overall activities of the various materials management operations within Surgical Services, exercising independent judgment in order to support the delivery of cost effective, quality patient care. Coordinates the procurement of supplies and equipment for Surgical Services. Directs, plans and coordinates the effective and efficient functioning of the surgery inventory systems. Is involved in the action planning/implementation process of the OR Materials management and is accountable for all OR materials procurement functions. Coordinates procurement plans with relation to the best price, quality products and other services related to the acquisition of product maintenance agreements or projects. Acts as a liaison with sales representatives and with hospital personnel in the procurement of products and capital expenditures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have 2+ years experience of inventory experience in medical inventory or central supply. 2. Clinical experience preferred with surgical supplies. 3. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required. 2. Computer skills required. 3. Prefer BLS certification. Once certified must maintain certification.
