This position is assigned to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL.

This position is not eligible for telecommuting.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with configuring complex suite of legacy and modernized telemetry equipment (data processing, display, recording, distribution) used for Eastern Range launch operations
  • Assist with developing and maintaining scripts for automating operational routines
  • Operate telemetry equipment during real-time launch operations, and assist with Post-Launch Operations by performing data reduction of post-test data products for launch customers and system performance analysis
  • Assist with developing and maintaining checklists and procedures necessary to ensure nominal and consistent system performance during operations
  • Assist with systematic troubleshooting of system problems, corrective action, and operational re-verification
  • Assist with analyzing, logging, tracking and resolving complex anomalies (i.e., software, hardware, network) pertaining to system performance; recommend and implement approved courses of action
  • Continually monitor system performance and reliability
  • Obtain qualification and maintain proficiency on assigned training packages
  • Provide technical support to engineering projects that modify the Launch Test Range System (LTRS) operational baseline
  • Assist Cyber Security personnel with Information Assurance assessments as required
  • Complete assigned training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Zero to two (0 - 2) years of experience working in a complex software/network-based systems environment
  • Basic knowledge of software development and data transport protocols
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tool suite
  • Basic knowledge of interpreting circuitry and logical diagrams, preferred
  • Two or more years of experience on the Eastern Range, preferred
  • Telemetry systems experience, preferred
  • Experience working with Windows OS, Windows Server, Linux- REDHAT, Linux SENT-OS, and C# based computer systems and components, preferred
  • Knowledge of IT assets employed on the Eastern Range, as well as the Air Force and Department of Defense requirements for logical access, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the Test Range Operations various sectors' functions and scope, preferred
  • Telemetry over Internet Proxy IP experience, preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Some local travel may be required to meet critical operational schedules
  • DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ CE, or CISSP, or CASP), or ability to achieve certification within 90 days of employment
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends/holidays to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
