Location: Washington, DC

Clearance: ****This position requires an Active TS/SCI Clearance***

Salary: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00

This position is contingent upon project award

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions, LLC., is seeking a skilled AI Ethics Policy Analyst to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) initiatives. The AI Ethics Policy Analyst will be responsible for drafting, analyzing, and coordinating DoD-wide AI ethics policies and governance documents. This role will engage with senior leadership, working groups, and interagency partners to advance responsible AI practices across the Department. The analyst will ensure that ethical considerations are fully integrated into DoD AI strategies, policies, and decision frameworks. The candidate will have experience drafting high-visibility AI ethics policy for DoD leadership, demonstrated expertise in coordinating multi-stakeholder governance bodies, and a strong track record of producing clear, actionable policy guidance in complex technical environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review Responsible AI (RAI) policy and governance documents for the Department of Defense.
  • Coordinate and manage activities of the Responsible AI Working Council and similar governance bodies.
  • Develop policy analysis, white papers, and reports to support DoD leadership decision-making.
  • Provide situational awareness, policy research, and recommendations on AI ethics and governance issues.
  • Support cross-functional engagement with DoD components, interagency partners, and external stakeholders to advance RAI adoption.
  • Assist with responses to congressional inquiries and taskers related to Responsible AI initiatives.
  • Represent DoD equities to interagency or international AI ethics forums and support the development of enterprise-level ethical AI strategies.

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, or a related field from an accredited university (Required).
  • Master's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, or related discipline (Preferred).

Certification Required:

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (Required).

Experience Required:

  • 7+ years of experience writing DoD Responsible AI policy.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in defense policy or AI governance.
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating DoD-wide governance bodies, such as the Responsible AI Working Council.
  • Experience drafting congressional responses, policy briefings, or high-level DoD memoranda.
  • Prior contributions to enterprise-wide AI governance or ethics initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of DoD governance structures, policy development, and interagency coordination process.
  • Ability to draft and edit complex policy documents in clear and concise language for senior leadership.
  • Skilled in stakeholder coordination, with the ability to facilitate working groups and consensus-building across diverse organizations.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics frameworks, responsible AI principles, and emerging issues in AI governance.
  • Experience advising senior military or civilian leadership on AI policy, ethics, or emerging technology governance.
