DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Facility Safety Manager, your responsibilities will include implementing and overseeing accident prevention, fire prevention, sanitation, and environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You will also be responsible for addressing any safety concerns and taking necessary measures to prevent accidents and maintain security. Overall, your role as a Facility Safety Manager is crucial in promoting the well-being and safety of all individuals within the institution. Some key duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the Fire Emergency Response Team
- Conducting inspections, completing drills, and preparing and running scenarios related to fire and safety
- Training and maintaining training documentation related to fire and safety

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must obtain Advanced Safety Certification from the National Safety Council within five years.
- You must obtain and maintain a Radiological Safety Officer Certification upon hire.
- You must obtain and maintain a Lead Renovator Certification upon hire.
- You must obtain and maintain an Asbestos Supervisor and Building Inspector Certification upon hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
