Value Stream Manager Location: Tenneco - Blacksburg, VA About the Role As a Value Stream Manager, you will have overall accountability for the profitability and operational performance of your assigned production area. You'll drive excellence through leadership, lean principles, and continuous improvement in a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Profitability & Performance:
Ensure the assigned area meets financial and operational targets. Provide leadership to instill constraint management in a connected process flow.
- Safety & EH&S Compliance:
Promote and enforce workplace safety. Hold supervisors accountable for safety policies, lead timely accident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Practices:
Champion Lean tools (e.g., Kaizen, value stream mapping, SMED) to drive waste reduction and productivity. Foster a culture of innovation and improvement.
- Customer & Quality Focus:
Resolve customer concerns promptly. Maintain production quality and timeliness to meet customer expectations.
- Business Planning & Resource Management:
Develop and manage annual business plans encompassing capital, expenses, labor, scrap, and material usage. Review and recommend capital expenditures for tools and equipment.
- Production Oversight & Controls:
Lead scheduling and execution of manufacturing to meet quantities and quality standards. Implement controls and procedures for production activity efficiency. Monitor performance through analysis of production, quality, and budget reports.
- Policy Development & Staff Leadership:
Contribute to policies and procedures. Administer personnel policies, and select, train, and grow your team.
- Operational Excellence:
Stay current with production management trends and integrate relevant techniques into plant operations

Qualifications:
- BS required; MS preferred
- 5+ years in manufacturing management
- Demonstrated lean leadership and operational excellence
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
