Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to aninnovative, industry leadingcompany?InterMetro Industries is seeking anEHS Manager! The EHS Manager creates, revises, and maintains environmental, health, and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. The position anticipates, identifies, and evaluates hazardous conditions and prescribes appropriate and effective countermeasures. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Performs full range of environmental, health, and safety duties for all Wilkes-Barre facilities. May be called upon to support programs at Corporate level and other locations within the division.
2. Drives ongoing EHS compliance efforts and improvement plans.
3. Maintains communication with other departments to lead hazard elimination efforts in matters of project planning, contractor training and all other major processes of production.
4. Creates and/or updates site EHS programs.
5. Coordinates and/or conducts safety & environmental training, as well as new hire safety orientation.
6. Ensures compliance with safety & environmental regulatory agencies.
7. Oversees and/or conducts internal EHS audits (InterMetro self-assessment, etc.). Maintains all monthly health and safety inspections and ensures that all open items are addressed.
8. Oversees external regulatory audits (ex: OSHA, DEP, EPA, etc.).
9. Completes all required environmental reporting, including but not limited to TRI Form R, Tier II, WVSA Monthly Reports, Storm Water Annual Inspection Reports, Annual 26 R Residual Waste Reports, etc.
10. Investigates accidents, determines root causes, and recommends corrective action, changes in procedures, practices, and methods to prevent recurrence. Responsible for Workman's Compensation Program, accommodation requests, and medical records.
11. Creates, coordinates and conducts Job Hazard Assessments.
12. Has full responsibility for planning, monitoring and managing Respiratory Protection Program, Hearing Conservation, Pandemic Plan, and COVID compliance.
13. Guides work of others who perform essentially the same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule and review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance, or make pay decisions.
14. Ensures all current and new employees are trained in the Code of Business Ethics, in its meaning and application. Periodically reviews the Code with employees and ensures they attend the annual ethics refresher program. Maintains a workplace environment that encourages frank and open communication, free from fear of reprisal, concerning compliance with the Code.
15. Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Applied Science, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or another applicable field.
A minimum 5 years direct Environmental, Health, & Safety experience in manufacturing environment. InterMetro Industries is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
