We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior Director, Manual Quoting to lead and scale our team responsible for manual quoting operations. In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and efficiency of our manual quoting department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large team of manual quoters, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback to drive professional growth and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the manual quoting department, focusing on improving accuracy, speed, win rate and efficiency to enhance the customer experience.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team, analyzing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Supply Chain teams to optimize workflows and ensure a seamless quoting and ordering process.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and data to streamline operations and scale the team's capabilities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of training programs and quality control measures to maintain a high standard of quoting accuracy.
- Manage department budget, resources, and staffing to meet business goals and adapt to evolving demands.
- Serve as a key thought leader on best practices for manual quoting within the organization.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or operations role, with at least 5 years managing large teams.
- Deep and demonstrable knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, and 3D printing.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a passion for developing talent and fostering a positive, high-achieving culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using data to drive business decisions and process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-faceted projects and driving operational excellence.
- Experience working with CAD/CAM software and familiarity with quoting or ERP systems is a plus.
