Key Responsibilities:



  • Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs
  • Perform detailed calculations
  • Site investigations and monitoring
  • Reviewing, preparing, and modifying designs, analyzing reports, specifications and studies
  • Conduct research and analyze data to inform design decisions
  • Ensure that projects comply with relevant codes, standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, engineers, project managers, etc. to develop and implement creative solutions to complex challenges
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals and presentations
  • Stay up to date with latest trends and developments



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional engineering license (Oregon and Washington registrations required within 6 months of hire) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
  • 8+ years of civil engineering experience, primarily in transportation design (stormwater engineering experience a plus) with a background in designing and producing large civil plan sets with multiple disciplines (i.e.drainage, grading, utilities, signing, striping, signals, ADA, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable on national engineering standards such as AASHTO Green Book and Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, HSM, HCM, ITE Trip and Parking Generation; knowledge of local Oregon, Washington, Portland standards a plus
  • Experience leading a team of designers and drafters(upwards of 3-4)
  • Agile and flexible work ethic to take on a variety of tasks, roles, and responsibilities
  • Organized, detail oriented, and solid communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Open Roads, and MicroStation
