Key Responsibilities:

Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs
Perform detailed calculations
Site investigations and monitoring
Reviewing, preparing, and modifying designs, analyzing reports, specifications and studies
Conduct research and analyze data to inform design decisions
Ensure that projects comply with relevant codes, standards and regulations
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, engineers, project managers, etc. to develop and implement creative solutions to complex challenges
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals and presentations
Stay up to date with latest trends and developments

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional engineering license (Oregon and Washington registrations required within 6 months of hire) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
8+ years of civil engineering experience, primarily in transportation design (stormwater engineering experience a plus) with a background in designing and producing large civil plan sets with multiple disciplines (i.e.drainage, grading, utilities, signing, striping, signals, ADA, etc.)
Knowledgeable on national engineering standards such as AASHTO Green Book and Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, HSM, HCM, ITE Trip and Parking Generation; knowledge of local Oregon, Washington, Portland standards a plus
Experience leading a team of designers and drafters(upwards of 3-4)
Agile and flexible work ethic to take on a variety of tasks, roles, and responsibilities
Organized, detail oriented, and solid communication skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Open Roads, and MicroStation
