Position Title: Vice President Financial Reporting / Regional Controller

Reports To: SVP, Controller

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for accounting processes, systems and internal controls required for the accurate reporting of CenterPoint's historical cost GAAP and fair value financial results, both internal and external, and responsible for the accounting, systems and relationship for assigned region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and directs the accurate reporting of financial results, both historical cost GAAP and fair value
  • Manages the joint venture monthly close, reporting and annual audits as needed.
  • Works with Property Accountant on assigned Regional Management Team to assure accurate lease entry, NOI reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Reviews budget, CAM billings and tax billings, annual operating cost tenant recovery reconciliation, and account reconciliations
  • Directs the design, development and implementation of accounting, audit, and financial reporting policies, procedures, and administrative practices
  • Coordinates and supervises interaction with external auditors and the audit process
  • Coordinates the preparation of the annual budget including joint venture budgets
  • Reviews and assesses portfolio performance through meaningful report preparation
  • Assists Company leadership by providing detailed property financial information as questions arise
  • Performs special projects as requested
  • Oversees preparation of tax returns and tax compliance
  • Oversees accounting for all joint ventures
  • Manage the Company's compliance with relevant GAAP
  • Review all acquisition and dispositions statements
  • Completes work consistent with corporate processes and policies
  • Acts in accordance with the values of the company and complies with all company processes and procedures.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance; and 7-10 years of accounting leadership experience, CPA required
  • Deep technical accounting knowledge of both US GAAP and NCREIF reporting standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software with particular expertise in Excel
  • Proficient in standard corporate operating systems and software
  • Builds strong working relationships with all key customers
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage time effectively
  • Ability to perform actions and make decisions with a high degree of integrity
  • Strong leadership skills in providing motivation and career direction for team members
  • Excellent organizational skills and is detail oriented
  • Flexible with respect to work schedule; able to travel when needed.
  • Possesses a strong business acumen with analytical and technical proficiency in all aspects of real estate industry accounting
  • Displays the self -initiative and dedication necessary for successful work completion
