Reporting to our Engineering and Maintenance Manager, as a Maintenance and Facilities Project Engineer, you will coordinate capital projects including lab equipment, facility renovations, mechanical equipment updates and utility support; may include infrastructure modernization, maintenance and upgrading of labs, structures, architecture, and interior finishes while ensuring facilities compliance with local, state and federal codes and regulations. Ensure technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices. Investigate need for new equipment; participate in make or buy decision. This is a 100% on-site position located in our Cranbury site and may require visits to other sites located in New Jersey. Salary Expectations: 90k-115k based on technical experience Main responsibilities:
- Engineering Excellence: Develop implementation schedules for maintenance and subcontractor activities relating to these projects, coordinating activities to minimize operation delays or lost time and ensures compliance to schedules and project goals.
- Coordinate Engineering Modifications: Coordinate engineering modifications and new projects for administrative facilities including labs and office environments. Ensure all work is following local and state regulations. Provide regular progress reports on the timeline schedules for all projects.
- Planning and Design: Creates, plans and performs engineering design (development), and analysis tasks of moderate complexity for a projects. Help with verification of existing space plans and use. Create and plan engineering design. Ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule and performance requirements.
- Develop Processes: develop processes and apply procurement principles in the oversight, acquisition, and management of subcontractors providing support services such as design work, studies, construction and modifications.
- Maintenance Collaboration: Apply knowledge of facility design to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems. Select the best methods or process from among several existing alternatives. Manage more complex maintenance of lab and office facilities and equipment. Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, and plumbing, using hand and power tools.
- Oversee maintenance staff: manage the staff and activities that relate to site maintenance, this includes manufacturing areas and support systems. Develop preventative maintenance program to support ongoing maintenance of all systems related to manufacturing areas, HVAC, building structure, and internal infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance: Follow all cGMP, and Safety requirements. Ensure compliance to Food Safety Activities by participating in internal and external Food Safety audits.
- Coach, mentor and review: you will provide feedback to the staff, communicate priorities and serve as a mentor who will coach and answer questions. Complete mid-year and end-of-year reviews and develop goals.
- Cost control/optimization: manage spending activities year to year to ensure budget is maintained to approved levels. Provide analysis on monthly spending for contract services, and internal and external material usage. Identify capital project requirements based on trend analysis that will be performed and help develop short- and long-term CAPEX requirements.
- Cost Savings: Develop cost-saving and sustainability programs required to meet annual cost reduction and reduce Carbon footprint.
- Safety/quality compliance: you will pay careful attention to and follow the NOAM and department's procedures. Ensure department compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and safety regulations. Ensure all policies and permits meet the required regulatory procedures as related to OSHA and NJDEP standards.

- High school diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 7-10 years working in a manufacturing facility, familiarity with wastewater treatment.
- Prior management experience with demonstrated ability to develop staff members.
- Knowledge of Windows, SAP, MS Office and experience working in a GMP environment is required.
- Understanding of 5S initiatives and concepts
- Background with safety requirements related to performing maintenance activities such as LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space.
