Mechanical Design Summer Internship

We are part of Seagate's Equipment Development Engineering organization. We develop state of the art equipment to enable low cost component assembly and test utilized in the drive factories. Our group has been designing equipment used in the assembly and testing of drive components for over 20 years. We are technology leaders in the area of nanomotion, precision measurement solutions, and automation system design and control.

Seagate is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern within our Equipment Development Organization in our design center in Shakopee, MN. This position will support the design, development, launch and production of a high performance servo-mechanical test system to support Head characterization. You will assist engineers in solving and executing day-to-day tasks.

• You have considerable judgment and motivation to complete actions.
• Able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and be able to creatively solve problems as they arise.
• Enjoy multitasking and focusing on completing numerous projects.

• Familiarity with Solidworks a strong plus.
• Working towards a bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics, or similar field

Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe - it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well.
