Main Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Plan, direct, control, and manage the activities involved with manufacturing processes to meet production requirements of a contract or program between the company and customer to ensure that fulfillment of all contractual and program requirements is met. Help plan and drive tooling requirements and improvements to increase output, improve quality and reduce cost.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
Improve quality and efficiency within Operations and Manufacturing processes through Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Design and implement production assembly fixtures and tooling.
Analyze manufacturing process flows to enhance quality, cost reduction, and productivity.
Collaborating with all departments regarding product design to ensure effective production methods.
Ability to clearly write or edit technical documentation and assembly or process instructions.
Help trouble-shoot and drive root cause analysis.
Conform to company safety policies and procedures.
Work in both standalone and team environments to discover and implement solutions.
Analytical problem solving on manufacturing floor.
Working across our teams to ensure alignment of schedules and activities.
Conduct regular review meetings to ensure team and schedule alignment.
Lead efforts from product and process development though transition to production manufacturing.
Engage suppliers to ensure a smooth interface between our development teams.
Assist operations teams to research and resolve customer problems.
Lead and support implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Facilitate communication between management team and customers.
Conform to company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as needed

This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the El Cajon, CA location.


Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:

Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace or can demonstrate exceptional talent, experience and results in lieu of a degree.
5 -10 years' experience in related field with 2-5 years' experience in manufacturing complex aerospace components
Experience in metal processes (forming, cutting, welding, etc.) - metallic structure manufacturing preferred.
Experience with creating and evaluating 3D models using SolidWorks (preferred) or other 3D CAD software
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Must be able to initiate, work through and close short- and long-term projects according to project schedule.
Must have ability to perform with ambiguous and incomplete information in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and CI, experience in using CI tools such as Value Stream Maps, SPC, PFMEA, 5S.
Analytical problem solving, critical thinking, and being hands on are a must.

Essential Physical/ Mental Abilities Required:

Employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, occasionally required to walk, climb stairs, stoop, use hands to finger (keyboard), stand for extended periods of time on a shop floor, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Other Skills:

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $120,000-$125,000.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process.
