Job Title DAM (Digital Asset Management) Librarian Department Media Job Summary The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Librarian is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and distributing Maharam's extensive library of over 100,000 digital images and media assets. This role ensures all assets are properly cataloged, rights-managed, and easily accessible through Bynder, Maharam's DAM platform, as well as internal file servers. The DAM Librarian oversees metadata standards, taxonomy, user permissions, and IP address management, working closely with the Media, Communications, and IT teams to ensure a well-structured, secure, and efficient digital asset environment. Essential Functions
Maintain and evolve the taxonomy and metadata standards for Bynder to ensure consistency and discoverability. Organize, catalog, and tag assets for accurate classification and fast retrieval. Ingest new assets into Bynder and ensure they meet established quality and metadata requirements. Periodically audit the DAM to remove duplicates, archive outdated content, and ensure metadata accuracy. Enforce usage rights, licensing restrictions, and expiration dates for all assets. Maintain records of asset permissions and ensure compliance with copyright and brand standards. Manage user access levels, permissions, and IP address administration for relevant servers. Liaise with IT to troubleshoot technical issues, maintain server integrity, and integrations with other platforms. Coordinate with Bynder representatives for upgrades, troubleshooting, and system enhancements. Develop documentation and training materials for Bynder users. Lead onboarding sessions and provide ongoing support to Media, Communications, and Sales on DAM best practices. Respond to image and web asset requests via shared inboxes, ensuring prompt and accurate fulfillment. Monitor system usage and generate reports on asset activity to inform internal stakeholders. Gather user feedback and recommend improvements to enhance usability and search functionality. Maintain cold storage systems and long-term archives for legacy assets. Ensure assets are preserved in appropriate formats for future accessibility.
Magnitude and Relationship Reporting This position reports to the Digital Projects Manager Contacts Inside and Outside the Organization
Maharam Media and Communications departments (primary collaboration). Light contact with Sales team for training and support. Liaison with IT and Bynder representatives as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
Proven experience managing DAM platforms (Bynder preferred). Strong understanding of metadata, taxonomy, cataloging, and digital archiving best practices. Knowledge of copyright, licensing, and digital rights management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with server architecture and IP administration. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage large volumes of assets. Strong communication and training skills. Interest in art, design, and architecture is a plus.

A starting compensation range for this role is $76,000.00 - $100,000.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
