Job Title: Purchasing Agent


Summary As a member of the purchasing team, the Purchasing Agent coordinates and leads in MRO activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, and parts, for organization by performing the essential duties of the position.



Starting Salary: $85,000



The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At ANBM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Reviews, negotiates and processes 30 to 50 MRO requisitions on a daily basis.
  • Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority, using required negotiation skills.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Reviews transportation and freight documentation for imports.
  • Approves invoices for payment.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users.


Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings
  • Strong purchasing negotiation with good communication skills
  • Manufacturing buying experience in automotive industry is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and complete essential tasks with minimal oversight
  • Highly motivated to initiate projects & drive to execute through completion
  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including: Excel, Word, Power Point, JDE
  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, understanding of intellectual property issues in relation to external services, high competency level at comprehending contract language and identifying legal risks.
  • Must be a quick study, proven ability to manage change, strong decision maker, ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects and aggressively pursue deadlines independently.



Physical Demands




  • Most work is done in an office environment.
  • Sedentary position, use of mouse and keyboard, view monitors for long periods of time.
  • Some work will be in a plant environment, may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises
