Job Summary The Duke Smoking Cessation Program is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care for adults who require tobacco use treatment in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health care team to provide direct patient care services for patients with the supervision of the Medical Director of the Duke Smoking Cessation Program. Job Eligibility Requirements Education NP: Graduate of accredited MSN or DNP Nurse Practitioner Program for adult care PA: Graduate of accredited Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree Physician Assistant Program Certification NP: Any NP certification that treats adults (FNP, ANP, AGNP, AGACNP, etc.) PA: PA-C Both: Certified as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) or eligible for certification, including being at least 6 months tobacco free and remaining tobacco free for the duration of employment. Licensure NP: Must have unrestricted RN licensure issued by or recognized by the NCBON with authorization to practice as NP PA: Must have unrestricted license issued by the NCMB with authorization to practice as a PA Both: Federal and State DEA independent license with prescriptive authority Experience: Both: APP experience preferred but not required.
