About the Role:

Purpose:



  • Lead Operations Readiness for LALNG from FID through start-up, targeting a safe, efficient first cargo.
  • Serve as the central focal point and process owner for the Operations Readiness framework at LALNG, providing governance, assurance, and alignment with Woodside's standards, regulatory requirements, and LNG industry best practices.
  • Integrate operations requirements with the EPC and key stakeholders (e.g., Bechtel, Port of Lake Charles, pilots, tug providers) to deliver operable, maintainable assets with clear handover criteria.

  • Reports to Director Operations for LALNG
  • Direct Reports: Operations Readiness Ops Lead, Operations Readiness M'tce Lead, Systems and Tools Lead.

Duties & Responsibilities:

HSEQ & Process Safety



  • Champion awareness and strict adherence to WDS and LALNG project HSE policies, values, and standards across all teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide visible leadership in Process Safety Management (PSM), ensuring full compliance with PSM procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive effective PSM implementation by embedding inherently safe design principles throughout project development and execution.
  • Lead and facilitate risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities to ensure conformance with Process Safety Management requirements and maintain a safe operating environment.



LEADERSHIP



  • Establish and develop the Operations Readiness organization, building a capable, high-performing, and competent team aligned to project and operational needs.
  • Provide strategic and visible leadership for Operations Readiness activities, ensuring integration across all project phases from engineering through to start-up.
  • Lead workforce planning and coordinate resourcing requirements, ensuring the right skills and capacity are in place to meet project milestones and operational objectives.



WORK PROCESSES & SYSTEMS



  • Develop and manage the Operations Readiness budget, including OPEX forecasting and cost control.
  • Define, execute, and deliver the Operations Readiness plan and mandatory project milestones.
  • Oversee handover, acceptance, and verification processes to enable safe and efficient start-up.
  • Provide governance and assurance to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering to embed Operations and Maintenance requirements into facility design.



EXCELLENCE



  • Deliver an integrated Operations Readiness program from Assess through Execute, ensuring smooth handover to the operating asset.
  • Assure stakeholders of the quality, completeness, and readiness of all operational deliverables to enable safe start-up and sustained performance of new facilities.
  • Ensure seamless integration and transition of new facilities into existing operations, minimising disruption and optimising performance.

Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years experience in the LNG, Oil & Gas industry, with experience encompassing handover, commissioning and start-up activities
  • In-depth knowledge of People, Safety, Environmental and Industry legislative requirements
  • Knowledge of the Production Processes, Risk and Management of Change processes & systems
  • Skill in Process Safety Critical Role Competency
  • Ability to drive and shape long term plant and business strategies
  • Ability to lead change and influence within a large organisation
  • Demonstrate positive influence on team and organisation
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams including contractors
  • Clearly aligned to company, facility and management goals and objectives
  • Experience with activity scheduling and controls
  • Understanding of Operations.
  • Tertiary Qualification or equivalent industry experience
