Summary of Position:

The role of Director, Application Operations is to manage the Operations of IT Applications globally. This includes Service Management, Operations, and Financial Management activities. This position will work closely with the Client Strategy Team, Global Supplier Management and IT suppliers to maintain effective delivery of application services globally. This position will ensure effective and integrated IT services, working with IT staff, SIAM and Service Provider resources, to manage the delivery of day-to-day operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

*Service Management & Operations:

  • Lead the delivery of day-to-day application support, ensuring service continuity and operational excellence.
  • Own the application service catalog; ensure the CMDB is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor application performance and lead proactive trend analysis and resolution.
  • Oversee IT Change Management processes aligned with ITIL standards.

*Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Manage relationships with application service providers and review SLA/OLA compliance monthly.
  • Approve changes to application support contracts and ensure accurate license tracking.
  • Collaborate with Global Supplier Management to optimize contracts and reduce costs.

*Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage operating budgets for IT applications in coordination with Finance.
  • Track actuals vs. forecast and drive cost transparency with business partners.
  • Understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for optimization.

*Incident & Continuity Management:

  • Lead resolution efforts for critical (P1/P2) application incidents.
  • Assess business impact, coordinate continuity plans, and support disaster recovery testing.
  • Build relationships with Business Process Owners to ensure resilience strategies are in place.

*Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive application service improvement initiatives based on performance data and industry trends.
  • Benchmark services against peers and implement best practices to enhance reliability and value.

Qualifications:

*10+ years of experience in IT operations, application management, or related areas

*Strong understanding of global IT service delivery models and outsourced environments

*Working knowledge of ITIL (Foundation certification required; advanced certifications preferred)

*Experience managing service performance, monitoring tools, and supplier contracts

*Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

*Ability to prioritize and execute effectively in high-pressure environments

Education:

*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
