Printpack Jackson is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Slitter Operator. An ideal candidate will have strong initiative, prior machine operating experience, and strong troubleshooting skills on heavy machinery. Job Description This is a 3rd Shift (11pm-7am) Monday - Friday. Candidates must be willing to transition to either 2nd or 3rd. Starting pay is $21.77/hr with a $2.50/hr shift differential for hours worked between 7p and 7a. Candidates may need to train on day shift for 4-6 months before transitioning to permanent shift, but this is not guaranteed. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operate a slitter at or above plant EFM goals while meeting all safety requirements Run quality product/identify quality issues Use PRISM to move orders/product through finishing dept Ability to learn/use the automated roll handling system integrated with the slitter Participate in preventative maintenance of slitters and automated roll handling system Have fine visual discrimination skills including color Ability to understand layout and specifications Ability to learn process troubleshooting skills and apply troubleshooting techniques Ability to learn/use PRISM Troubleshoot the slitters and integrated automated roll handling system Skills Required: High School diploma or GED Able to read layouts Attention to detail Able to read measuring instruments including a tape measure Knowledge of dimensional measurements Able to work with fractions and decimals Willingness and ability to work any shift Current associates in Formal or greater level of counseling are not eligible to apply.
