Pivotal Health Solutions is seeking a Manager, Engineering & Facilities to join our team in Watertown, SD. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering, maintenance, and facility operations of the organization to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment. This role leads a multidisciplinary team in planning, product design, maintaining, and upgrading infrastructure, equipment, and systems that support business operations. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including preliminary designs, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selections
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of buildings, grounds, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems
- Ensure facility compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations
- Manage contracts and service providers for maintenance, security, janitorial, and other facility-related services
- Lead the planning and execution of engineering projects, including equipment upgrades, process improvements, and energy efficiency initiatives
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for equipment and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex engineering problems and provide effective technical solutions
- Manage, train, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and facility personnel
- Develop KPIs and track performance of maintenance and engineering teams
- Plan and execute capital improvement projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Production, Quality, IT, Safety) and external contractors to complete projects on time and within budget
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for engineering and the facility
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency in utility consumption and maintenance practices
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and/or facilities management with 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- 1-3 years of Medical Device Design experience
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design and facilities maintenance
- Proficient in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent)
- Strong ability to coach others including Engineers, supervisors and shop floor team members
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
