Responsibilities

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.

The Lead Biller/Collector completes the billing and collection for third party payers of assigned facilities. Prepares patient accounting claims and invoices to third party payers. Oversees the billing/collections process for the Business Office. Works with the Assistant Business Office Director to resolve complex billing issues. Works directly with ABOD and team to help decrease the facility's bad debt roll and resolve credit balance accounts. Maintains a general understanding of Financial Counselor responsibilities/up front collections.

Essential Functions:

  • Completes daily business office functions, while training new staff, to ensure timely month end billing.
  • Completes monthly billing functions, including overseeing the facility's billing/collections process.
  • Provides support/assistance to Assistant Business Office Director to enhance administrative effectiveness of operations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Three or more year's healthcare billing and collections/follow-up experience with third party payers; preferably behavioral healthcare and/or social services. Electronic billing experience working with residential and/or acute accounts and billing required. Must be computer literate with above average skills in Excel and Databases.
