Core Responsibilities:



  • Machine mold components and fixtures per drawings and dimensions provided, while understanding the function of the finished component and its assembly.
  • Disassembles production molds, cleans molds following standard procedures, and reassembles such as required.
  • Once order is received, request for it to be loaded on the network, determine what tools are best to use, and what tool paths are best to accomplish order in an efficient matter.
  • Loads needed materials in machine and square it up according to the blueprints. This is to ensure that the parts of a tool are made accurately.
  • Assembles all parts to make tool or die.
  • Mark and identify that all parts are correct and accurate.
  • Inspection of the tool, using any number of precision measuring tools, calibers, micrometers, height gauges, and machining tools. This is to ensure that the tool is made correctly for the appropriate job it for which it was made.
  • Communicates with engineers to make sure that the plans for the dies and the prints are going to bring an accurate outcome. Provide ways to improve the process in order to accomplish efficiency.
  • Machine production parts as required by manufacturing demands
  • Training others in the area on various aspects of the job. This is to ensure cross training so that there are backups in each area.
  • Advises others on the best machinery to use for the particular tool making process.
  • Keep area and surrounding area clean and safe to meet and pass safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications:



  • Minimum of five (5) years of a strong manufacturing background working with machine tools. Aerospace experience a plus.
  • Ability to understand and follow company and customer specifications.
  • Ability to regulate controls associated with all equipment utilized.
  • Ability to operate manual lathe, manual mill, CNC, grinders, wrenches, precision grinders, hand drills, drill presses, pneumatic hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience with cutting all sorts of materials, mostly metal objects.
  • Have an excellent background in trigonometry.
  • CAT training or some other type of dimensional models in a computer program.
  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels employees.
  • Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.



Education Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED required

Machinist level I & II certifications highly preferred
