What You'll Do



Summary/Objective:

The Mortgage Closing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance and timliness in the coordination and preparation of all mortgage loan closings.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate with members, underwriters, processors, attorneys and title companies in the preparation of all mortgage closing packages.
  • Prepare loan closing packages in accordance with credit union guidelines, federal regulations as well as secondary market commitments and requirements.
  • Ensure the Closing Disclosure and all closing documents are within acceptable timing requirements and tolerances as required by the CFPB, HOEPA and HPML rules and all other applicable regulations and investor guidelines.
  • Prepare the initial escrow analysis for the loan closing.
  • Coordinate with other departments for the wiring of funds.
  • Advise all parties of any change requests or issues and follow through to resolution.
  • Perform pre-closing quality review of loan files prior to releasing closing package.
  • Complete all disbursement procedures for issuing funds to attorneys/title company and borrower funds.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Managers(s).



What You Need

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years mortgage or related experience
  • Technical Skills (word, excel , outlook etc.)
  • Professional Written and Verbal Communication skills
