Position Description:
The Production Control Specialist role is responsible for ensuring that all materials are moved and tracked for eventual issuance to production and/or engineering operations and/or to the next job location to meet published schedules. Performs shop order and shipping support tasks in ERP. Takes direction from assigned planning team and manager. Resolves potential problems to ensure material flow is not delayed.
Essential Functions:
* Monitor material pickup points, last activity locations, review router to determine where parts go to next, and ensure parts are delivered to appropriate locations.
* Expedite material flow through the shop floor by working collaboratively with production, engineering and quality teams.
* Effectively communicate the status of deliverables, actions, and issues to stakeholders in various forums.
* Process shop order splits.
* Assist in ERP data integrity endeavors.
* Proactively participate in continuous improvement activities affecting the planning, procurement, build and test process.
* Any additional tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:
* HSD or GED equivalent required.
* Experience with processing planning and/or movement of material within an ERP system strong preferred.
* Solid verbal and written communication skills.
* Self-starter with ability to get tasks accomplished on time.
* Basic understanding of production flow, shipping/receiving operations, and/or stock room processes.
* Organized, capable of multitasking and setting priorities.
* Detail oriented with a sense of urgency.
* Must be a US Citizen.
This position is located at our Black Mountain NC facility. Relocation assistance is not available.
