Summary

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, properly prepares, labels, packages, distributes, restocks and disposes of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
Manages and processes inventory within the Pyxis Logistics Inventory system. Assists with cycle counts, returns and inventory update maintenance. Fills and maintains Pyxis automated dispensing (ADS) cabinets. Reports and/or addresses all issues such as discrepancies and failed drawers. Answers phone calls and triages calls to a pharmacist for further assistance when required. Utilizes EPIC to respond to messaging and re-dispense patient medications. Compounds non-sterile medications in accordance with state/federal regulations. Assembles and dispenses emergency trays.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Completion of an ASHP or ACPE Pharmacy Technician training program or currently enrolled in a College of Pharmacy with a valid State of Georgia Pharmacist Intern License.

One year experience as a hospital pharmacy technician
OR Two years of experience working in retail pharmacy
OR Recent graduate of ASHP/ACPE accredited pharmacy technician training program with recommendation from GHS direct supervisor.

Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician or have a Pharmacist intern license with the State of Georgia.
