Position Summary Trideum is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator at our Huntsville, AL headquarters to support critical network infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to design and secure modern multi-site networks, work directly with cutting-edge cybersecurity teams, and play a vital part in enabling national defense programs. - Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure at headquarters and branch locations.
- Administer FortiGate Firewalls, including policy management, VPN configuration, and threat monitoring.
- Configure and maintain core network devices (Cisco, Dell, Netgear), including VLANs, trunking, and routing.
- Upgrade and replace legacy network hardware in line with lifecycle and security baselines.
- Monitor and analyze network performance; resolve availability and security issues to ensure business-critical uptime.
- Document network architecture, inventories, and baselines; maintain accurate diagrams and records.
- Apply routine patching, firmware upgrades, and configuration backups to safeguard network stability.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity through redundant paths, VPNs, and ISP failover solutions.
- Partner with the Cybersecurity team to remediate vulnerabilities and investigate network-related incidents, ensuring CMMC Level 2 compliance.
- Collaborate with system administrators on cloud and hybrid infrastructure projects; manage Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall).
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated network incidents and service requests.
- Assist the Security Operations team with traffic analysis and incident investigations.
- Support the IT service desk by resolving escalated connectivity issues and enabling reliable employee access.
- Track operational metrics, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to IT leadership.
- Maintain certifications and complete cross-training with security analysts and system administrators to expand technical expertise.
- Travel Requirements.
- Occasional travel required to Trideum branch offices, customer sites, and professional development conferences.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
- Commitment to professional growth.
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years in enterprise IT with focus on network administration.
- Proven experience with FortiGate Firewall configuration and management.
- Hands-on experience with switch configuration (Cisco, Dell, Netgear) including VLANs, ACLs, and QoS.
- Strong grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.
- Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN, client VPN deployment).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid infrastructure.
- Exposure to Windows Server, Linux, and Microsoft 365/Azure administration.
- Experience with wireless networking and NAC solutions.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, and asset management).
- Experience supporting or operating within CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or ISO 27001 compliance frameworks
- Certifications
- Relevant certifications preferred: CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, Network+, Fortinet NSE 3+ or higher, Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- ITIL Foundation preferred.

- Broad technical knowledge spanning network infrastructure, server administration, cloud services, and collaboration platforms.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical IT solutions while maintaining security and compliance.
- Proficiency with IT service management (ITSM) platforms (Ivanti Neurons preferred) and monitoring tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including policy and procedure documentation.
- Analytical problem-solving skills with a track record of improving operational efficiency.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
