About the Position The Vote Center Technician provides assistance and technical support related to Voting Centers for the Maricopa County Elections Department. Leveraging knowledge of standard office equipment and software, the Vote Center Technician acts as a critical point of contact for Temporary T-Techs and troubleshooters. This position is responsible for coordinating schedules, providing support to IT staff, and assisting in the revision and maintenance of training materials to ensure compliance with relevant state statutes and federal laws. Additionally, this position requires the employee to work in an office or in a field environment, and may be customer-facing, for all hours worked. We Require
- Three (3) years of experience performing office, administrative, and clerical duties
- High School Diploma or GED
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or experience listed above may substitute for the minimum requirements on a year for year basis
Other Requirements
Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification Must successfully complete a background screening Must be eligible to vote in Arizona Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona Driver's License Mandatory overtime during all election cycles
We Also Value

Job Contributions
- Conducts all maintenance on Ballot on Demand Printers, including troubleshooting issues, job uploads, re-imaging, and quality control
- Coordinates the training and staffing of temporary T-Techs needed for vote centers to ensure they are current on procedures prior to each election
- Uses inventory tracking for outgoing and incoming Vote Center equipment, conducts a post-election supply audit, and recommends quantities of supplies for reorder
- Works in the Command Center during the election cycle, assisting workers and all temporary tech staff in troubleshooting all technical issues in the field
- Distributes T-Tech supplies to staff and maintains inventory of phones, badges, tech bags, printer supplies, and accounts for the return of these items
- Reviews issues that occur during the election and assists in developing a plan to minimize the occurrence of such issues in future elections
Working Conditions
- May be required to exert up to 25-50 pounds and carry for 100 feet
- Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, and stoop or bend
- Work may occur in an office, in the field, or in a warehouse environment
- May be exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
- May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, and any related conditions
- Work requires utilizing a personal or county vehicle to travel within Maricopa County
- Must not engage in any political discussion
- Requires the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications and a pallet jack
