Maxar Space is seeking a Spacecraft Bus Electronics Products Production Program Manager to join our team at our San Jose, CA office. In this role, you will be the Principal Production Program Manager for electronics products and be an integral part of an organization responsible for the design, build, test and delivery of cutting-edge spacecraft bus electronics products in support of various missions. Missions range from large high power GEO stationary to high volume LEO constellations, from communications to deep space exploration and national defense. Customers span commercial, civil and defense industries. Responsibilities:
- You will have overall responsibility of planning and recommending/implementing changes to methods related to spacecraft bus electronics products production
- You will be integral to lead production activities
- You will oversee all production aspects of Maxar designed spacecraft bus electronics products
- Manage production and identify current or future constraints; work with Maxar team to address and eliminate constraints
- Prioritize hardware across products and programs based on program/customer milestones and factory needs while considering manpower and equipment constraints
- Create production, inchstone, and what-if schedules to meet Maxar delivery dates
- Generate reports using MRP system; provide reports on production status, issues, and necessary corrective actions
- Present production status weekly to Maxar Program Office and Customer meetings; maintain production status/performance dashboard
- Work with Maxar planning and procurement to ensure that parts are available when needed, and help facilitate resolution of shortages
- Work with Maxar stakeholders to create three-year capital plan
- Help develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance; drive continuous improvement initiatives to further streamline production of bus electronics products
- Monitor and contribute to spacecraft bus engineering development projects by providing input related to production tasks
- The ideal candidate displays professional expertise and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues, has working knowledge of company products and services. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Drives projects to completion while identifying and removing barriers as they arise, and exercises judgement to determine appropriate action and recommends modifications to existing plans and processes to better align with business objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Aerospace or other engineering discipline. An additional four years of experience may be substituted for a degree. A master's degree may count for two years of experience
- 8 years of work experience in aerospace or related industry (such as autonomous vehicles)
- Electronics production management experience; Vendor or Subcontract management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Skills in team leadership; with the abilities to effectively delegate authority, develop and motivate a highly effective team, enable good working relationships at all levels of the organization, understand and communicate the executive leadership vision, effectively operate across organizational boundaries
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbally, with the ability to distill and communicate complicated issues into appropriate executive level summaries, including recommendations as needed
- Familiarity with new product development
- Satellite design and manufacturing
- Power or Bus products used in spacecraft applications
- Developing labor and non-labor cost models for hardware development and procurement activities

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
* The base pay for this position within California is: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
