Job Summary

As a Software Engineer at CDW, you will play a vital role in the software development life cycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement software applications that meet business requirements and design goals. You will be responsible for translating user needs into efficient and scalable software solutions using object-oriented analysis and design techniques. This role requires strong technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for building high-quality software products.

What you will do:

  • Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle, including design, development, testing, and implementation, facilitating innovative design and delivery of solutions to challenging technical issues through information gathering and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements, operating costs, and resource needs.
  • Work with a team to employ object-oriented analysis and design techniques, such as use case analysis, object modeling, and database schema design.
  • Contribute to application architecture planning to ensure optimal solution architecture, efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Develop high-level system narratives, storyboards, and user interface prototypes to conceptualize software solutions.
  • Create detailed design specifications for hardware and software, providing technical guidance to the development team.
  • Design system test plans, ensure software quality assurance (SQA) standards are met, and validate that business goals are accomplished.
  • Estimate project timelines, allocate resources, and manage budgets for assigned projects.
  • Implement software solutions adhering to CDW coding standards and quality.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the successful delivery of business-oriented solutions.
  • Make technical decisions in alignment with product roadmaps and management directives.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and optimize project outcomes.
  • Complete projects and tasks on time while effectively reporting project/task status to management.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or a related role, demonstrating a track record of successful project delivery. Or, 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or a related role, demonstrating a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Angular v.14+ or React.js, and ability to write clean, concise, and maintainable code.
  • Demonstrated experience with Typescript, Javascript and full stack technologies, including but not limited to Node.JS, serverless computing, SCSS, HTML5, and relational (PostgreSQL or MySQL) databases.
  • Cloud-native software development experience, preferably in GCP.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Web Services and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong grasp of web development fundamentals and patterns.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and programming techniques.
  • Experience delivering solutions using Agile methodology within a CI/CD environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing needs, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools like GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, and/or Junit, a plus.
  • Experience in Agile SAFe Framework, a plus.
  • Working experience with Azure/AWS/GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes, a plus.
  • Ability to think through performance requirements and lead optimization/tuning efforts is beneficial, a plus.

Pay range: $85,000 - $117,000 depending on experience and skill set
