The Manufacturing Supervisor will support the Toledo manufacturing operations with occasional travel required. This position reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and Operations.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensure overall safety of employees by validating that we provide a safe work environment and that employees follow safe work practices.
  • Support the quality systems to ensure world-class quality products.
  • Manage employees to achieve goals including but not limited to safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and ensure teams are focused on their goals.
  • Set direction for your team and be accountable for results. Celebrate successes and passionately drive to improve areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain ISO 9000 System procedures
  • Drive and lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, visual factory...). Be a change agent!
  • Troubleshooting and eliminating problems.
  • Good at developing plans and breaking them into small milestones that can be managed and tracked.

Background and Experience

  • High School Diploma (College Degree preferred).
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years supervision experience in similar environment preferred.
  • Experienced in successfully utilizing quality tools such as kepner tregoe, KT, and fishbone.

Skills and Attributes

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple activities and priorities
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong customer (internal and external) service orientation
  • Integrity, honesty, practicality, consistency, clarity and a constructive bias are all expected
  • SAP knowledge preferred
