Divisional Finance Director
This position is responsible for driving the financial discipline of Comerica at a strategic LOB level. This includes providing financial insights, analysis, reporting, recommendations for earnings improvement, and an independent view of financial performance.
Responsibilities
  • Provide financial support, maintain financial oversight and make recommendations on financial issues to LOB Executive management teams.
  • Coordinate the creation and analysis of the strategic plan, annual plan, monthly forecasts and monthly financial reports.
  • Support national lines of business, as well as local market executives.
  • Act as primary financial partner for LOB Executive Management teams and be an active participant in all team meetings.
  • Partner to develop and advance profit and growth improvement ideas from a financial perspective.
  • Provide analytical support and recommendations on key financial issues.
  • Provide financial modeling for strategic initiatives and track the financial performance of those initiatives.
  • Supervise summarization and analysis of financial information for review by Executive management; recommend opportunities for profit and/or efficiency enhancements.
  • Proactively resolve MIS issues impacting performance and review impact with Executive management.
  • Review cost/benefit analysis of capital expenditures for accuracy and appropriate accounting.
  • Responsible for overall Plan and Forecast management at the market level, including development of targets and coordination with local executive management.
  • Provide special project support and market level analytics related to financials and other performance metrics to Executives, the President of Comerica, the CFO, and the MEC as needed; Supervise and/or perform research and assist with analysis for special projects for Executive Management on an as needed basis.
  • Develop employees to create and maintain strong pipeline of talent for future openings.
  • Ensure compliance with all Comerica's policies and administer all human resource requirements in a proper manner.
Qualifications
  • 4 Yr/Bachelor Degree Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 10 years bank experience or equivalent financial institution experience, specifically in revenue/pricing strategy process improvements, strategic planning and/or financial planning and analysis
  • 8 years management experience
  • 8 years experience with financial reporting systems - principles, strategic planning and pricing strategies
  • 8 years experience supporting and working with Senior Management
  • 8 years experience with wordprocessing and spreadsheet software (i.e. Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
