TITLE: QC Technician A



POSITION OBJECTIVE: Assist the TCL Department in Quality Control. Monitor all aspects of Quality Assurance within the department. To standardize the duties of this position and to ensure that personnel adhere to the Corporate Policy and Procedures. The directives are to ensure that the product meets or exceeds the specifications set forth by the customer and/or the TCL Department.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
  • Good statistical and analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Quality Control and Production experience desirable.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for training all new employees (permanent or temporary to be familiar with the process and procedures related to the job function.
  • Complies with all written and verbal safety rules and procedures.
  • Know and be able to perform all winder tasks and duties when needed.
  • Responsible for monitoring Quality Standards.
  • Must be able to read and understand sequence reports and tally sheets.
  • Must be able to perform proper procedures for Quality Assurance on all types of bags.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/ Operations Manager.



WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • Subject to noise, causing a reason to shout to be heard above the noise level.
  • Subject to vibration, exposure to fluctuating movements of the body.
  • Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, and high heat.
  • Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation, and dust.



AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:



  • Hold/Release or scrap out product, as assigned by Manager(s)
  • Report any unsafe conditions; hazards



MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:



  • Electronic & Mechanical devices
  • Forklift hand jack
  • Tape measure
  • Utility knife & safety (J) knife - Mocon, dart opacity, tear



PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • Climbing, ascending, or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Stooping, bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine and waist. Example: Changing paper in the printer, copier machine.
  • Kneeling, bending legs at the knee to come to a rest on the knee or knees.
  • Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending the leg and spine.
  • Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: Giving signals, reaching for a material or handle on an item.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods. Example: Making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
  • Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force to drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting:5-50 lbs.
  • Fingering, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm, as in handling.
  • Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
  • Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using the spoken word, via face-to-face or telephone.
  • Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 dB loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
  • Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Example: Filing, sorting mail, and starting ignition of machinery.



VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • Position requires the individual to differentiate colors, depth, and perception.
  • Must be able to detect visual defects in film.
  • Must be able to perform visual inspections involving small defects.
  • Must be able to read measurement devices such as tape measurements, pendulum scale, digital displays, etc.
