o This project is a series of individual projects resulting from future gas turbine modifications being made that has downstream effects on equipment such as HRSGs, relief valves, control valves, BFW and Condensate pumps, further analysis of equipment etc. The person needs to have a strong handle on engineering and project management and be able to talk with vendors and internally; to finalize the necessary changes the study identified and pull together specifications needed for either direct purchase or the development of SOW to go out to bid.

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will bring 8-10 years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems, HRSGs, including pumps, control valves and relief valves, and will be comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams, project managers, and external vendors. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented engineer with strong project execution skills and the ability to travel as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and support mechanical engineering projects from concept through completion of development. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other project managers and vendors. - Provide technical expertise on equipment such as pumps and relief valves. - Conduct site visits to power plants and power stations to oversee installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning. - Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience?

8-10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the energy or utilities sector. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, control valves and relief valves, boiler understanding. Proven experience managing or supporting multiple projects simultaneously. Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment in field environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to travel as needed. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
