Overview

#CAES by #Honeywell is seeking a seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Designer responsible for drafting work related to microwave subsystems used in defense and aerospace applications. Primary responsibilities will include thin film substrate design, documentation and all related activities. Substrate design work entails work related to development projects, R&D work, as well as the support of all legacy products. Position requires a highly organized and diligent skillset with excellent 2D drafting skills.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Support all substrate design and documentation activities including the detailed design of thin film substrates. Process requires an in-depth knowledge of internal thin film design guidelines.
  • Generate all required substrate documentation for ECO release.
  • Substrate optimization efforts for improved production yields.
  • Interface with external substrate vendors as required.
  • Create, update, and ECO release complex 2D assembly drawings related to microwave subassemblies.
  • Generate detailed drawings including 2D fabrication drawings, detailed top level assembly drawings and other manufacturing related documentation.
  • The design of various fixtures and tools to support the assembly and testing of subsystems.
  • Other mechanical tasks as required including part and drawing updates, BOM and documentation related tasks to support manufacturing operations.
  • Work with internal machine shop to have prototypes and test fixtures created and/or modified.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Design or related field such as Industrial Design/Industrial Technology with 6+ years relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong 2D drafting skills utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD or Draftsight
  • Experience with drafting and documenting thin film substrates.
  • Ability to create complex assemblies and layouts in 3D or 2D.
  • Generation of detailed 2D fabrication drawings utilizing GD&T.
  • Candidate must have good communication skills to interact with various internal organizations and must be able to coordinate efforts and work closely with a wide variety of groups within the business.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, softwre or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain active secret security clearnance.

Preferred:

    • Experienced at 3D modeling software (preferably SolidWorks or Creo)

Salary Range (hourly rate): Designer IV: $43.00-$62.00. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
